Serving Booneville, DeSoto, Van Meter, and the nearby areas including West Des Moines, Adel, Waukee, and Winterset, our community proudly supports the American Legion in Des Moines and the American Legion Post 403, as well as the Bondurant Legion Hall and the Van Meter Legion.

American Legion Post 403, located near Des Moines, is a non-profit 501 (c) (19) veterans’ organization and serves as the home of the Veterans Reception Center in Van Meter. We take pride in supporting the families of all veterans utilizing the Iowa State Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter by providing a venue for veteran families wishing to gather after the Committal Services. The meeting space usage is complimentary for veteran families, although the Post always appreciates donations to help with ongoing utility costs, building supplies, and maintenance.

Additionally, venue space is available to the general public for a fee at our Van Meter Legion. For more details, please call 515-996-9166 or message vrciowa@gmail.com. Rental costs vary based on guest attendance and space requirements, depending on the event.
